Fatima Marques has been a visual artist for over 15 years. With academic and contemporary influences, the artist creates works that reflect the Universe of the Feminine in terms of beauty, feelings, dreams and daily life reflections / questions.
Having served as a senior marketing executive in some of the largest multinational consumer goods companies for over 30 years, she lived and felt the challenges of a corporate world up close (a very masculine world at the time, therefore rational) , logical and competitive) which consisted, in a way, of repressing feelings, emotions, dreams ... Thus, Fatima Marques discovered in painting, the ideal way to vent reflections, feelings and dreams. Besides, of course, being able to de-stress from day to day work, being able to connect with yourself and being with your mind in the present / now.
The union of these elements, generated the visual identity and the theme for which the artist is known today ... the "Art of the Feminine, of possible emotions and dreams".
Fascinated by the world of the arts, especially by the technique of great masters of oil painting from the Renaissance and Baroque period, and by the Surrealist style, over the years, she acquired her knowledge through art history courses, international trips and in a studio. painting, where you can improve your design, techniques and creativity.
Thus, the artist's production is configured in the oil on canvas technique - Contemporary realistic Figurative Style, through an artistic language intrinsically associated with feeling, from the perspective of the "universe of the feminine". The dialogue between classical and contemporary art, characterizes his work, and is related to what can be conceptualized as "Imaginary / Fantastic Realism" (that is, the intersection between the real / concrete world and the world of dreams, the interiorization of themselves, possible emotions and perspectives).
Since 2005, the artist has participated in Collective Exhibitions throughout Brazil and abroad, with numerous awards in her category. He disseminates his work through galleries in Brazil and Europe and has his works cataloged in art publications in Brazil and abroad. With great repercussion, he exhibited his works in important halls and galleries in Paris / France; in the United States; in Italy and Portugal. In Jan. 2018, she participated in the XII Biennale d´Arte Internazionale di Roma, having been awarded the 2nd place in the Biennial - Painting category. In 2016, she participated in the “27th Mostra Mercato d`Arte Moderna e Contemporânea di Pádova” / Italy, having been selected to participate in the Art Talent Show. Still in 2016, she participated in the Collettiva Artisti Brasiliani in Tívoli, Rome / Italy, having been awarded the 1st Prize in painting.
Fatima Marques brings in her work the mark of an acute artistic sensitivity, which gives life and energy to her timeless figures, in a wise relationship between the classic and the contemporary. She is, above all, an artist with a natural command of technique. Her work is also intrinsically associated with feeling, in the search for a personal language and a thematic axis in tune with her feminine sensibility.
